MQM rejoins federal cabinet KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has late Wednesday formally announced to rejoin federal cabinet, Geo News reported.

With Governor Sindh Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad and Interior Minister Abdul Rehman Malik present on the occasion, MQM’s leader Dr. Farooq Sattar announced that his party resolved to rejoin federal government in the greatest interests of country.

Making announcement, he said that MQM reached this decision after assurance that it would be consulted and taken under confidence for the solutions to challenges faced by country.

“MQM has been assured that it would be consulted on key issues of national issues,” he said.

Earlier, MQM’s Rabbitta Committee in London and Karachi held meetings, which suggested that the party should join federal cabinet upon assurances from PM Yusuf Raza Gilani and President Asif Zardari.
