The Pentagon is hiring US Training Center Inc. (USTC), a subsidiary of Blackwater International, for "counter-narcoterrorism activities in Afghanistan."

The decision comes despite probes by both the Defense and State Departments of Blackwater officials' misconduct in Afghanistan, the Anti-War website reported on Thursday.

Some reports indicate that the company has misled officials and misappropriated government weaponry.

The new deal requires USTC to provide “intelligence analyst support and material procurement” for NATO in the Afghan drug war.

As a result of multiple lawsuits resulting from activities in Iraq, Blackwater International has renamed itself Xe Services.

The company's constant "rebranding" efforts seems to be aimed primarily at covering the public scorn Blackwater earned in Iraq, though the US administration continues to eagerly hire them for multimillion-dollar deals.
