Taliban militants have surged attacks following the alleged killing of al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden by US military forces near Islamabad in early May.
Fresh armed clashes between Pakistani troops and Taliban forces have claimed the lives of at least six militants and one security officer in Pakistan's northwestern tribal region.
The clashes occurred after a roadside bomb hit a security forces' convoy in the Orkazi region late Sunday, killing a soldier and injuring three others, a Press TV correspondent reported citing local sources.
In response, security forces launched a retaliatory operation and killed 6 militants.
Police forces have begun a search operation along with a curfew in the area.
In another incident seven people were injured in a bomb blast in the charsadda town in northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province of Pakistan.
Militants planted explosive materials on Naushehra Road in Charsadda on Monday morning, injuring seven people, officials told Press TV on Monday.
Security forces shifted the injured to a local hospital and cordoned off the area. Two of the injured are said to be in critical conditions.
